Asiana Corporate Plus is the Asiana Airlines special corporate priority program for business customers. Please note that individual special prices, benefits and conditions may differ, so please keep this in mind when making reservations. (However, corporate priority benefits only apply when issuing corporate priority tickets)

Special baggage is different in shape and size from ordinary baggage and is highly susceptible to damage or bending during transportation. Such baggage will only be permitted when packed inside a case.

How to declare valuable goods

Should the checked baggage be lost or damaged, we do not bear any responsibility beyond the Terms of Transportation specified by the Montreal Convention.
If you are checking special baggage, you can pay an additional fee to be guaranteed the amount you declared in the event of damage.

Eligibility (valuation charge)

The declared value of the goods must be evidence-based and the maximum declared value is limited to USD 2,500.

Declaration Charge

Each declared value of USD 100 is calculated as USD 0.50.
For more information, please ask a staff member during baggage check.

Small instruments

Carry-on baggage : Instruments like violins that have combined dimensions (width + length + height) of 115 cm or less can be carried on board.
(Small instruments also count toward the free carry-on baggage allowance)
Checked baggage : Due to the risk of damage, it is not possible to transport instruments as checked baggage without a separate hard case.
You will need to complete the instrument transport contract to send an instrument as checked baggage.

Large instruments

Carry-on baggage : If you purchase a seat for your musical instrument, you can bring large, expensive instruments on board, such as cellos and guitars, up to 155 cm in height.(Cello cases must be shorter than 150 cm in length)
If you wish to purchase a seat for your instrument, please contact the Asiana Airlines Reservation Center to ask about reservations for carry-on musical instruments and ticket issuance.
Checked baggage : Expensive and large musical instruments such as cellos and guitars cannot be checked in without a separate hard case to prevent the risk of damage. When checking in, you will be required to complete an instrument shipping declaration and will be charged an excess baggage fee for instruments measuring 159-203 cm. If the dimensions of a large instrument exceed 203 cm on three sides, transport may not be possible.

* Double basses, harps, etc. and instruments that have combined dimensions exceeding 203 cm cannot be carried on board or checked in.

Note for transporting instruments

Since instruments are susceptible to damage, we recommend you carry the instrument with you on board, purchase an additional seat, or check it in as cargo.
To minimize the risk of damage, please use hard cases and fill them with cushioning material.
Excess baggage charges will be applied should the total number of bags (instruments and other checked baggage), size, or weight exceed the baggage allowance limit for free check-in.

How to Use

Take extra caution when packaging sports equipment, as the shape and size vary from ordinary baggage and the contents are highly susceptible to damage during transportation.
Please note that sports equipment that is not packed in a hard case (special packaging container) will not be eligible for compensation in the event of damage.　
Asiana Airlines has established the following baggage rate regulations to provide low cost sports equipment transportation for sports enthusiasts.
Sports equipment not listed below will be subject to the same free baggage allowance as regular baggage and will be subject to the regular excess baggage fee.
As of November 1, 2020, all domestic flights are subject to a baggage handling fee of KRW 10,000 for large baggage and the discontinuation of additional benefits for sports equipment.

Golf equipment
- (1 golf bag + 1 regular bag) with total weight under 32kg: considered as 1 checked bag.
- (1 golf bag + 1 regular bag) with total weight of 32kg ~ 45kg: considered as 2 checked bags.
Snow/water skiing, snowboarding equipment
- (1 Ski/snowboard bag + 1 regular bag) with total weight under 32kg: considered as 1 checked bag.
- (1 Ski/snowboard bag + 1 regular bag) with total weight of 32kg ~ 45kg: considered as 2 checked bags.
Surfboards, Windsurfing, Wakeboards equipment
- Surfboard equipment should be packed securely in a surfboard bag.
- Should your surfboard bag exceed the free baggage allowance, you will be charged the excess baggage fee or the excess weight fee.
Scuba diving equipment
- Scuba diving equipment should be packed securely in a special bag.
- If the scuba diving equipment bag exceeds the free baggage allowance, you will be charged the excess baggage fee or the excess weight fee.
- “1 empty scuba tank + 1 scuba diving bag” are considered one checked bag.
- The valve must be completely removed from the tank, the tank should be left open offering visibility for internal inspection, and the tank must be completely empty.
- Sea lanterns (underwater light for diving) cannot be transported as checked baggage and must be carried on board. The battery must be separated and transportation of the separated battery is subject to our transportation standards.
Bicycles
- Bicycles should be packaged in a special hard case with a shock absorbing buffer, after the handles have been fixed and the pedals removed.
- Motorized bicycles, motorcycles, jet skis, or any equipment with engines cannot be transported as baggage.
- If the bicycle exceeds the free baggage allowance, you will be charged the excess baggage fee or the excess weight fee.
Fishing equipment
- (1 fishing bag + 1 tackle box) are considered as 1 checked bag.
- Separate packed fishing tackle is counted each, except 1 fishing bag + 1 tackle box.
- If the fishing equipment exceeds the free baggage allowance, you will be charged the excess baggage fee or the excess weight fee.
Hockey/Lacrosse Equipment
- One equipment bag plus one stick are considered a single item of checked baggage.
- Even if you only check one stick, it will still be considered one checked baggage.
- One equipment bag that is checked with the stick may not exceed 23 kg, and should it exceed 23 kg, it will be considered as additional baggage and be subject to additional baggage charges.

Notes

It cannot be transported if the sum of the three dimensions exceeds 292 cm.
If the weight of golf, ski, and snowboard equipment and a regular bag each exceeds 23kg, the benefits for the sports equipment will not apply and an excess baggage fee will be charged.
Example:
7kg golf equipment + 25kg regular bag = 32kg or less → An excess fee applies as the weight of an individual bag exceeds 23kg
10kg ski equipment + 22kg regular bag = 32kg or less → Benefits for sports equipment apply as the weight of an individual bag is within 23kg
For golf, skiing, and snowboard equipment, weight benefits for Asiana Club Excellence members are not applicable. (No duplications)
You will be unable to receive the golf equipment benefit if your golf bag contains items other than a golf club.
Golf clubs that are not packed in a special hard case will not be eligible for compensation in the event of damage.
