Mileage Expiration Date

• Mileage expiration dates are determined according to your membership grade at the point of boarding or mileage accrual. Miles that are not used before the expiration date will not be carried over. Asiana Airlines miles can be used toward flight rewards, upgrade awards, and for various affiliates.

• Expiration date of miles is based on the membership status at the point of boarding or accumulation.
• Miles earned by boarding are valid from the date of boarding, while general miles other than boarding miles are valid from the date of accumulation. The miles of Asiana Airlines and partners are valid from the date of boarding even if they have been earned upon request after boarding.
• All miles that are accrued starting from October 1, 2008 will have an expiration date, but miles earned up to September 30, 2008 will not expire.

When using miles, miles with an expiry period (earned from October 1, 2008) will be redeemed first, and then the miles without an expiry period (earned before October 1, 2008) will be redeemed. Miles with less time remaining are redeemed first if miles with an expiry period are used.

The validity period of the mileage refunded by canceling the mileage ticket (including upgrade seatings and other mileage deductions) will be the same as that of the mileage used at issue. Miles that have expired upon refund will not be refunded due to expiration. Only those that remain valid will be refunded.
