CloseDalian, a romantic city in the north
Dalian is a city close to KOrea, only 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Dalian is a beautiful and clean port city, surrounded by the sea on three sides, and referred to as the “pearl of the north” and “city of romance.” KOreans abroad who know about China prefer Dalian and recognize it as a clean and developed city, comfortable for KOreans to live in. Furthermore, Dalian was controlled by Russia and Japan for about 60 years during the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century, due to its geopolitical position and the interests of neighboring countries. You can sense the influence of these countries in different parts of the city. You can experience a valuable historical education at several tourist sites that are historically significant to KOreans. It’s also a good place to take a short vacation, as it has golf courses with good facilities, bathing resorts, and beach landscapes. Located by the seaside, marine life is abundant near the city, and the excellent seafood dishes are fresh and affordable.

CloseHowever, in April and October, the winds are cold due to the geographical characteristics and it’s good to have a windbreaker. If you are visiting in the winter, you may feel very cold on windy days. It’s recommended you wear thermal clothing at those times.

- Lushun Russo-Japanese Prison Many independence fighters, including An Jung-geun, Sin Chae-ho, Lee Hee-young, et al., were imprisoned and died here. If you look directly at the vivid images inside of the execution room, you will be reminded of the sacrifice of the ancestors who devoted themselves to the anti-Japanese struggle of the time. Here, you cannot help but feel solemn and sorrowful. We encourage you to visit, even if only for the opportunity to educate young children in history.
- Natural History Museum Once used as a city hall by Russia, it now displays about 100,000 specimens of marine life, geological minerals, animals and plants.
- Russia street This is a Russian-style street created after Russia took control.
- Ancient Goguryeo of Mount Dahei It is the Goguryeo fortress at the southernmost end of the Liaodong Peninsula. This fortress was the frontline, preventing naval invasions when Goguryeo warred with powerful and numerous forces.
- Golden Pebble Beach It is a state-level scenic spot made up of mountains, seas, beaches and reefs, covering a total area of about 110 ㎢, 50 km from the city center of Dalian.
- Dalian TV Tower Located in the center of the city, the TV Tower is situated behind Labor Park, where there is an impressively large soccer ball. The TV tower is 190 m high and 360 m above sea level, providing panoramic views of Dalian. After relaxing in Labor Park and enjoying the rides, you can take the cable car to Dalian TV Tower.
- Binhai Road Take a drive on a 39.9 km-long coastal road. On Binhai road, you will find “Donghai Park,” “No. 18 road” which turns 18 times, “Bangchui Island Park,” “Tiger Beach Ocean Park” filled with tiger legends, “Beida Bridge” where swallows fly to and nest in the spring, and “Xinghai Square,” one of the largest public squares in Asia.
