City Description

Seattle, the city of waters with a beautiful port
City Description

Seattle was named after Indian Chief Sealth of the Squamish Nation, who had an amicable relationship with the early pioneers.

It is the first port city in northwest America located in the northernmost part of the west. The Pacific Ocean is located in the west, the Oregon border in the south, and the Canadian border in the north. The population was about 704,400 as of 2016. (The total population of Washington state: 7,288,000) It has an oceanic climate, averaging 21°C in the summer and remaining sunny most of the time with almost no rain. The temperature averages at 5°C in the winter with frequent rain and heavy rainfall.

Seattle is a hub for land, sea, and shipping transportation, and is also a hub of trade and business for high-tech industries including aviation (Boeing), software (Microsoft), and internet (Amazon.com). It also has a beautiful natural environment. Numerous mountains, seas, rivers, lakes, and forests, along with Mount Rainier, a national park that is covered with permanent snow, are only 2 hours drive away from the city, which itself is also covered in forests.

In the summer, enjoy outdoor sports like hiking, fishing, and water skiing in fantastic weather, and in the winter, enjoy a romantic cup of coffee while watching the rain pour. These are some of the many reasons you are bound to love Seattle.
