City Description

Chicago, the city of art and architecture loved by Americans
City Description

Not many KOreans know that Chicago is the most “American” city and the most desired travel destination among Americans. We strongly recommend Chicago (next to Lake Michigan) to those who want to avoid getting bumped around in the crowd trying to take pictures and not having a moment to relax, and experience the true purpose of traveling – to let go of the daily stresses in life, and experience the charm of an American city.

A city of captivating architecture also dubbed the “Windy City.” Niagara Falls is located in the northeast and South DaKOta to the west, where the faces of America’s famous presidents are sculpted on Mount Rushmore. If you are traveling with your children, we recommend that you visit not only the University of Chicago which produced the most number of Nobel laureates but also Northwestern University, a prestigious private college. You will meet another side of Chicago when you visit President Barack Obama’s house, the birthplace of Ernest Hemingway, and the filming location of Transformers 3.

Travel Tip

1. Temperature
Like Korea, Chicago has all four seasons, but spring and summer are very short. Summer is damp and very hot while winter is snowy and windy. If you are visiting Chicago in the winter, you should prepare warm winter clothes.
2. Car Rental
If you are renting a car in Chicago, downtown is made up of mostly one-way streets and you should closely check the no parking hours when street parking. In winter, there are also many areas parking is restricted on certain days of the week or depending on snowfall. The traffic downtown is busy, so we advise against renting cars.
3. Events
If you are visiting Chicago in the summer, there are many events held downtown and the surrounding areas, so make sure to check in advance and plan your itinerary for a more memorable trip. (Free jazz performance, Taste of Chicago, night fireworks, etc.)
