City Description

Sendai, the Three Views of Japan, the Matsushima ski slopes, and a golfing heaven
City Description

A city where beautiful zelKOva trees stand all around the city, Sendai is the largest city in the northeastern region of Japan, the site of Miyagi prefecture government hall, and the center of culture, economy, education, and politics.

One of the three greatest scenic spots in Japan, Matsushima boasts a stunning landscape together with scenic ocean and land views. The Matsushima cruise that tours the island with the seagulls is most popular.

In the winter, enjoy skiing at the Zao Onsen Ski Resort famous for its frozen trees called “Snow Monsters. ” After you are done skiing, experience the Dai Rotenburo onsen, an open-air bath that can accommodate 200 people. Also recommended are the Eboshi Ski Resort that has 11 slopes, Sumikawa Snow Park popular for snowmobile rides through the frozen trees, and Shichikashuku Ski Resort sought by professional skiers.

The most prominent items in Sendai are trees and gyutan. We highly recommend gyutan, a delicacy made with grilled beef tongue.
