Special Baggage (U.S. routes)

Special Baggage

The following fees for special baggage (for U.S. routes) are applicable to flight tickets issued starting July 1, 2012.

Larger Musical Instruments

• Air fare will apply.
• Please contact the Asiana Airlines reservation center, search the website, or ask your travel agent for detailed charges.
• Large instruments that cannot be transported as checked baggage, due to excess weight or dimensions, will be accepted as cabin bulky baggage. Additional fees will apply to obtain a seat for the item.

Sports Equipment

• If the free baggage limits are exceeded, 1 piece of golf equipment is free. (This benefit is only for Asiana Airlines regions.)
• However, if the golf equipment exceeds 23 kg, excess weight charges will apply.
• Excess baggage charges will apply for each additional golf equipment that exceeds 1 free golf equipment allowance.

• There is no charge if all baggage, including equipment, is within the permitted free baggage limits.
• Excess baggage charges will apply for each bag that exceeds the permitted free baggage limits.
• Excess size charges are exempt.
• However, excess weight charges will apply if the equipment exceeds 23kg.

• Europe - U.S. routes (including Saipan)
• Oceania - Saipan
  Fees: KRW 200,000/USD 200/CAD 200 (KRW 175,000/USD 175/CAD 175 for Brazil departures/arrivals)
• Asia (excluding Oceania) - Saipan
  Fees: KRW 100,000/USD 100/CAD 100

Traveling with Pets

If pets are brought inside the cabin or checked as baggage (Pets are not included in the free baggage limits.)

• Europe - U.S. routes (including Saipan)
• Oceania - Saipan
  Fees : KRW 200,000/USD 200/CAD 200 (KRW 175,000/USD 175/CAD 175 for Brazil departures/arrivals)

Codeshare Flight Baggage (U.S. routes)

Codeshare Flight Baggage

• The free baggage limits for Elite members of Asiana Club only apply for flights in U.S. routes that are operated by Asiana Airlines.
• The free baggage limits and excess baggage rates may differ for codeshare flights or interline flights, so please make sure to check the airline's regulations. Benefits for Elite Members of Asiana Club

For baggage on codeshare flights in U.S. routes

• In accordance with US DOT order 2009-9-20, if a passenger bears a flight ticket with a departure city or final destination in a U.S. territory, the baggage rules that apply at the beginning of their itinerary will apply throughout the entire itinerary, regardless of stopovers.
• For codeshare flights with a departure or arrival in U.S. territory, the marketing airline will become the MSC (Most Significant Carrier). However, please note that for itineraries that include airlines other than Asiana (including codeshare flights), baggage rules for the other airlines may apply.
