San Francisco, represented by the Golden Gate Bridge, is a city many people want to visit once in their lifetimes. It is one of the best travel destinations in the United States and named as one of the world’s favorite cities by travelers all around the world every year.

Its Mediterranean climate between 10°C to 15°C is maintained throughout the year. Victorian houses and picturesque bridges that blend with San Francisco Bay create a beautiful landscape and romantic atmosphere.

San Francisco is home to diverse ethnic groups and a multitude of cultures coexist, enabling you to experience cultural characteristics of diverse ethnic groups. Some of the most notable regions are North Beach, home to Italians and the largest Chinatown in America, Fisherman’s Wharf, a picturesque representative of the coastal city’s landscape, Japan Town, which boasts the beauty of the orient, and the Mission District, the hub of Latin Americans.

It is also close to natural heritages such Yosemite National Park and Lake Tahoe, etc., and Napa Valley, home to Napa Wine that stands shoulder to shoulder with French wine. It is an ideal sightseeing city where you can enjoy great nature and feasts for the palate.

Travel Tip

1. Climate
It is warm year round, but you should bring a windbreaker because there is heavy fog and day and night temperatures vary widely. The average annual temperature is 15-20℃. The average annual rainfall is 530 mm and December to January (winter) is the rainy season. The best time to travel is from spring to autumn and any time outside of winter.
2. Voltage
The local electricity voltage used is 110V, and therefore not compatible with 220V electronic appliances. For 110V-220V compatible products, you must use an adapter.
3. Transportation
- Operated only in San Francisco, MUNI METRO is a small tram-like transportation system that runs both overground and underground.
- One of the oldest public transportation modes of all time, cable cars are operated only on a handful of routes but is considered one of San Francisco’s two greatest attractions.
- Muni Bus is a bus route connecting all corners of the city. Due to the complex route of Muni Bus, you should have with you a bus map available at the tourist information center located inside BART stations.
- BART is equivalent to overground/underground trains in Korea, and is the best mode of transportation that connects San Francisco to East Bay in the Bay Area.

Day 1 Expand
  • Powell Street and Market Street It is in the heart of the downtown shopping district. The tourist information center inside the Powell Street Station of BART offers booklets, a map of San Francisco, a bus route map, and information on various tour packages. You can also purchase a public transport ticket or BART tickets you can use during your trip.
  • Union Square Located in the heart of downtown San Francisco, Union Square is the starting point of San Francisco sightseeing and is always crowded with tourists from all over the world. Famous brand and luxury shops are available for you to shop the latest trends.
  • Chinatown Established in the 1850s, San Francisco’s Chinatown is the largest Chinatown in the United States and is made up of Chinese residential areas, traditional Chinese markets, shops, and restaurants.
  • North Beach This is an Italian district where more than 100,000 Italian-Americans reside. It resembles a small street of Italy with its many Italian restaurants and cappuccino cafes.
  • Fisherman’s Wharf It is visited by the most number of tourists in San Francisco all year round. There are plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as free performances by street artists for all visitors to enjoy the vibrant festivities.
  • Buena Vista Cafe This is a famous cafe that sells over 2,000 cups of Irish coffee a day, with dark espresso, whisky, and fresh cream.

  • Civic Center At the Civic Center, where San Francisco city government agencies are, you can visit the baroque San Francisco City Hall built in 1916.
  • Twin Peaks The Twin Peaks, named after its two identical hills standing side by side, are the second highest points in downtown San Francisco that overlook the panoramic view of San Francisco.
  • Golden Gate Park The Golden Gate Park is home to the San Francisco Botanical Garden, the Japanese Tea Garden, the de Young Museum, and the California Science Center, offering a variety of educational opportunities on nature, culture, and art.
  • Ocean Beach and Cliff House At the end of Golden Gate Park and on the west coast of San Francisco is Ocean Beach that borders the Pacific Ocean. This is a prominent landmark where the restaurant Cliff House stands on the jagged cliff.

  • Lombard Street Lombard Street is a must-see attraction in San Francisco, known as “the Crookedest Street in the World” and “the petal path.”
  • Palace of Fine Arts Designed by University of California, Berkeley architect Bernard Maybeck, this building resembles an ancient architecture from Greek myths and boasts a beautiful scenery together with the surrounding lakes.
  • Golden Gate Bridge The Golden Gate Bridge, the icon of San Francisco and the world’s most beautiful bridge, blends beautifully with San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, and the yachts floating on the sea.
  • Sausalito Once you cross the Golden Gate Bridge, there is a small town of Sausalito, which means “a small willow tree.” The city appeared in many movies, thanks to its picturesque scenes of hundreds of docked yachts and pretty shops and galleries.
