City Description

Miyazaki, a southern paradise that is warm year-round
City Description

Located on the southernmost Pacific coast of Kyushu, Miyazaki (prefecture) is about four times the size of Jeju Island. The north and west are mountainous regions and in the southeast region are plains where cities were built. Agriculture and livestock industries are developed in the outskirts of the city and forestry in the northwest. Approximately 5.6% of the population is engaged in primary industries and 77% is engaged in tertiary industries.

When you arrive at Miyazaki Airport, you will feel a soft breeze and the scent of the palm trees and the bougainvillea flowers that resemble a southern country.

The daytime temperature rises to 12-15 degrees in the winter, moderate temperatures of a southern country ideal especially for golfing among KOrean visitors. Attributable to such mild climate and close proximity to the beach, it is famous among golfers as well as surfing enthusiasts in Japan.

Travel Tip

1. Soju
In Japan, every region sells different types of shochu, and Miyazaki is famous for affordable and fragrant sweet potato shochu.
2. Temperature
Although the average annual temperature is 17 degrees, the temperature drops to 2 degrees from December to March when it is dry and the day and night temperature varies widely. You should bring enough warm winter clothes and masks to prepare yourself for a healthy trip.
3. Baggage
Please be advised that instant hot packs and hair straighteners (battery operated) are permitted in Incheon Airport but are considered dangerous when departing from Miyazaki and cannot be carried on board or checked.
4. Currency Exchange
Currency can be exchanged at exchange machines (located next to the vending machines at the international flight arrival terminal).
