* Details regarding the request process will be announced in a future notice.
  • If you fly on an Asiana-operated flight departing on or before October 15, 2026, you may earn Star Alliance partner miles. For more details, including missing mileage claims, please review the FAQ below.

2. End of Mileage Ticket Redemptions and Upgrades

If you use Asiana Club miles to redeem tickets or upgrades on Star Alliance partner airlines, the service end dates will vary by operating carrier. Please check [Q6. Ticketing and Flight Dates by Airline] in the FAQ below for more details.

3. End of Star Alliance Elite Benefits

Star Alliance Elite benefits (lounge access, priority check-in counters, extra baggage allowance, etc.) provided to Asiana Club Elite members flying on Star Alliance partner airlines are valid through flights departing on or before December 16, 2026.

4. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1. Why is Asiana Airlines leaving Star Alliance?

A
This is due to our upcoming merger with Korean Air. Asiana Airlines will maintain its Star Alliance membership until December 16, 2026, the day before the integration. After the integration date, you will be able to enjoy SkyTeam benefits as part of the integrated Korean Air network.

Q2. If Asiana Airlines leaves Star Alliance, will the Star Alliance Gold benefits (lounge access, Gold Track fast track, priority baggage handling, etc.) that I held as an Asiana Club Diamond or higher member simply disappear?

A
For customers who hold Star Alliance Gold status through their current Asiana Club Diamond or higher membership, the Star Alliance Gold qualification will end, but it will be converted to an equivalent SkyTeam Elite membership status without any gap in benefits.
Asiana Airlines' Exit from Star Alliance is part of the alliance transition (Star Alliance → SkyTeam) resulting from the merger of the two airlines.
Consequently, existing Star Alliance Gold status will be converted to SkyTeam Elite Plus, the corresponding top-tier status within SkyTeam.

Q3. What happens to the mileage accrued from past Star Alliance flights after the partnership ends?

A
Your accrued Star Alliance mileage balance and expiration dates will remain fully unchanged even after the exit.

Q4. Until when can I accrue Asiana Club miles for Star Alliance flights?
If miles are not automatically credited, what is the deadline for claiming missing mileage?

A
